Late Game Heroics lead Bulldogs to 27-20 Victory over Baytown Lee GandersĀ
Ā
The La Porte Bulldogs got their third consecutive win this season when they took on the Baytown Lee Ganders at StallworthĀ Stadium Friday night. The defense rose to the occasionĀ as they held a high-powered Lee offense to only six first-half points and only 20 points for the entire game. The defensiveĀ highlightsĀ of the nightĀ wereĀ a game-sealing interception by Tyran Williams and a pivotal 4th and two stop in the red zone to give the ball back to the offense with three minutes and forty seconds left in the fourth quarter in a tied ballgame. The offense had a lot of exciting drives, but none more significant than a game-winning seventy-yard drive led by the offensive line, Keenan Lawrence and Tyresse Barnes. A Keenan Lawrence touchdown capped off the drive, his fourth of the night, putting the Bulldogs up 27-20. With this victory, the Bulldogs continue their unbeaten streak in district play and look to continueĀ next week when they play Barbers Hill at home.Ā
