JV Dogs WIN the Border Battle

The JV Bulldogs started the 2023 campaign with a 16-13 victory over cross-town rival, Deer Park.

The Dawgs started the scoring early in the 1st quarter with a masterful drive by the offense including great blocking from the offensive line, Grady Ferranti, Iscom Jones, and Garrett Sewell. The drive was finished off with a 52-yard touchdown from Alijah Bright capped off with him scoring the 2-point conversion. The defense played a very gritty game with multiple 4th down stops throughout the game. The Deer scored early in the 2nd quarter and La Porte went into the half with an 8-6 score.

At the start of the 2nd half, the Deer had a 7-minute drive that was stopped cold by the Bulldog defense with the efforts of Jonathan Sandoval, Chris Zupan, and Braiden Metcalf. The Bulldogs capitalized and scored on a 75-yard run from Alijah Bright and Khris Torres scored the 2-pt conversion. The Dogs went up 16-6 with a little left on the clock. The Deer drove and scored but could not finish the game due to the well-executed defense the 1- minute defense to seal the victory for the Bulldogs.

The JV Bulldogs start the season 1-0 and continue playing next week against Elsik.
