The 8A and 8B football teams both clinched the Bay Area League District Championship last night when both teams defeated Deer Park.

The 8A football team won by a score of 28-0. Madden Shipwash connected with Kasai Richard on a 40 yard TD pass to get the Lobos on the board. The O-Line (Jason Abshire, Thaddeus Noyola, Wyatt Aubry, Brayden Noel, Khayton Davis and Gavin Webb) dominated the trenches helping the offense gain over 250 yards of total offense. Brooks Stout led the rushing attack for the Lobos with over 120 yards on the ground and 1 TD. Charlie Gale scored on 2 yard TD run, and A'Yalon Frazier had a 47 yard TD run. The defensive front was led by Marcus and Matthew Moorman, Landyn Rojano and Gordon Smith, limiting DP's ground game and had the QB scrambling most of the game. The secondary (Mikko Meittunen, Collin Hamilton and Conner Ponton) blanketed the WRs and limited their offense to only 4 completions for the entire game, most of which were behind the LOS. The 8A boys finish up the season next Tuesday at Bonnette at 5:30 PM.

The 8B team went on the road and won by a score of 6-0. The lone TD in the game was a short pass from Emanuel Olvera to Colton Munselle. It was all defense after that. Kenneth Gonzalez made several tackles throughout the game, and Kyler Brown and Zaelen Hawkins came up with big interceptions to help keep DP off the scoreboard. Luis De La Fuente, Eaden Nelson and Jose Paz made big plays on the offensive side of the ball to move the chains and keep the clock running on long drives. The 8B team finishes their season undefeated and outscored their opponents 149 to 14 for the season.
