The La Porte Bulldogs fought tooth and nail on the road against a gritty Nimitz squad, but despite a valiant effort, they fell short in a back-and-forth defensive battle. Neither team was able to pull away throughout the contest, with both sides exchanging blows and playing tough defense.
With just 14 seconds remaining, the Bulldogs had a chance to win the game, but Phillip Ned's three-point attempt missed its mark. Nimitz secured the rebound and sank two crucial free throws to push their lead to three points. La Porte's last-ditch effort, a half-court desperation three, came up short, sealing the Bulldogs' fate.
Phillip Ned led the Bulldogs with 15 points, while Cody Miller posted a strong all-around performance, grabbing 13 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists. Logan Pray was also a key contributor, finishing with 5 points and 10 rebounds, and Jayden Martinez added 8 points.
The Bulldogs, still searching for their first win of the young season, will look to bounce back next Tuesday at home against Almeta Crawford at 7 p.m
