The La Porte Bulldogs secured their first win of the young season with a 62-44 victory over Crawford on Tuesday night. The win was a statement for the Bulldogs, who were bolstered by the return of senior guard Mason Bell, who had missed the first two games of the season due to an ankle injury. Bell made an immediate impact, contributing 12 points and 10 assists, sparking his team to a commanding lead.

La Porte came out strong, building a sizable advantage early on. However, Crawford, a scrappy young team, refused to back down. Despite being out manned, they fought hard and cut the Bulldogs' lead to just 9 points in the third quarter. But La Porte responded with a strong run in the final period, outscoring Crawford by 16 to seal the victory and push the lead to 25 points by the final buzzer.

Phillip Ned and Fletcher Neely led the Bulldogs in scoring, each contributing 13 points. Cody Miller put together an outstanding performance on the boards, finishing with a career-high 20 rebounds, helping La Porte dominate the glass.

With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 1-2 on the season. They will look to carry this momentum into the McDonald's Texas Invitational, where they will face off against rivals Deer Park at 1:30 pm and North Shore at 6:00 pm this Thursday
