It was an unforgettable night for the Bulldogs of LaPorte High School. Baytown Sterling entered with hopes of extending their reign, of toppling LaPorte once again, but the Bulldogs had their own burning desire to show what they were made of.
From the very start, the Bulldogs exploded onto the scene with a fierce 4-0 run. Junior
Jake Gazaw ignited the momentum with his first goal of the game, answered swiftly by
Lucas Prigmore, then
Jacob Smith, and once more by
Lucas Prigmore, fueling the crowd and their teammates with unstoppable energy. Baytown fought back, scoring twice as the first quarter drew to a close. The defense shined brightly with four steals came through from Junior
Ean Lopez,
Lucas Prigmore,
Jacob Smith, and Sophomore
Douglas Robb. Sophomore
Cole Bailey stood tall in goal, recording two crucial saves. The scoreboard read LaPorte 4, Baytown 2, but the adrenaline and passion were only just beginning.
The Bulldogs weren't backing down in the second quarter as they surged forward with relentless determination, netting six more goals while Baytown managed only one. Sophomore
Gary Jordan seized his chance, scoring from a perfect pass by
Ean Lopez. Junior Jamie Reyes added another from a steal by
Lucas Prigmore, extending the lead to 6-2.
Jake Gazaw was unstoppable, tallying five goals in this quarter alone, proving his fierce pursuit of greatness.
Ean Lopez's aggressive defense led to two more steals, etching his name into history by setting the season record for steals.
Douglas Robb, stepping into the goal, made two vital saves, solidifying their commanding halftime lead of LaPorte 10, Baytown 3.
As the third quarter began,
Jake Gazaw set the tone with an assist from
Lucas Prigmore, pushing the score to 11-3. Baytown responded with four goals, but LaPorte answered back fiercely with two more goals from
Jaime Reyes and
Jake Gazaw, with Jake tying his own season record with his eighth goal, igniting cheers and pride among fans and teammates alike.
Lucas Prigmore closed out the quarter with another goal, while Douglas performed heroic saves, stopping the ball five times. The score stood at LaPorte 14, Baytown 7.
In the final quarter, Baytown managed only two more goals, but the spotlight was on
Jake Gazaw as he etched his name into history—scoring his ninth goal of the season, becoming the season's top scorer. Unstoppable, Jake added two more goals in the same game, setting a new record for most goals in a single game. All of his goals were assisted expertly by
Lucas Prigmore,
Cole Bailey, and
Douglas Robb.
Douglas Robb's defensive prowess shone brightly yet again, adding five more saves to his tally. Douglas has 12 saves in total.
