The cold didn't stop La Porte from posting some of their best times of the season and personal records, and they almost broke a few school records too.

The meet kicked off with the 200-yard Medley Relay for La Porte.
Adilyn Smith,
Natalie Chavez,
Julina Michel, and
Isabella Huerta finished in 4th place. On the boys' side,
Cole Bailey,
Jaime Reyes,
Lucas Prigmore, and
Jacob Smith also took 4th, each team earning 30 points.

In the Girls 200-yard Freestyle,
Alexandra Pilkerton and
Nellie Ortiz both scored points for La Porte. On the boys' side,
Jake Gazaw was the only swimmer, improving his time by 4.28 seconds to finish 7th and pick up 12 points.
Julina Michel was the only La Porte girl in the 200-yard Individual Medley; she came in 6th and scored 13 points, improving her time by 2.60 seconds. The fastest race was the 50-yard Freestyle, with
Natalie Chavez (5th),
Adilyn Smith (14th), and
Nellie Ortiz (16th) on the girls' side, and
Cole Bailey (12th),
Lucas Prigmore (15th), and
Jacob Smith (16th) on the boys' side. Everyone in these races scored points for the team. In the 100-yard Freestyle,
Isabella Huerta (8th) and
Jacob Smith (12th) both improved their times and scored points.

The longest race of the meet was the 500-yard Freestyle, where
Alexandra Pilkerton finished 12th and
Jake Gazaw came in 4th. They scored 5 and 12 points for their teams. In the second set of relays—the 200-yard Freestyle Relay—
Alexandra Pilkerton,
Nellie Ortiz,
Isabella Huerta, and
Natalie Chavez finished in 2:17.65, earning 5th place and the team 28 points. The boys' 200-yard Freestyle Relay (
Jacob Smith,
Cole Bailey,
Jake Gazaw, and
Lucas Prigmore) finished in 1:57.38, also in 5th place, earning another 28 points.
Julina Michel grabbed 3rd place in the 100-yard Backstroke, while
Adilyn Smith swam the same event, improving her time and earning points for La Porte.
Jaime Reyes was the only boy in the 100-yard Backstroke, finishing 8th and earning 9 points.
Natalie Chavez finished 4th in the same event, nearly breaking her school record—missing it by just .05 seconds—and scored 15 points. The final relay of the meet, the 400-yard Freestyle Relay, saw

Isabella Huerta, and
Julina Michel finish 4th and score 30 points. On the boys' side,
Jaime Reyes,
Cole Bailey,
Lucas Prigmore, and

Jake Gazaw qualified for Regionals in the 500-yard Freestyle.
Natalie Chavez qualified in the 50-yard Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke. Julina Michal made it in the 200-yard IM and 100 Backstroke. All six relays also qualified for Regionals.
