Last night Tuesday, August 20
th both Girls and Boys water polo team were in action. The boys game was a forfeit for Iowa Colony and gave the boys a 5-0 win. The girls played their game Home and Season Open and did not disappoint. Girls won 20-12 against Iowa Colony High School. This is the first time in school history as a UIL team! It only took Sophomore
Adilyn Smith 40 seconds to score the team's first goal of the season to go up 1-0. Adilyn finished the game with 2 goals. Senior
Gabriella Kirk scored to team's next goal to go up 2-0. Gabriella finished the game with 7 goals. Gabriella and Adilyn were the only two girls that scored in the first quarter for the Bulldogs. The rest of the team started to chime in in the second quarter. Freshman
Natalie Chavez scored her first high school goal with 4:21 left in the quarter. At that time the Bulldogs were up 12-4. Natalie finished the game with 9 goals. Others that got their first high school goals were Junior
Isabella Huerta with :25 left until halftime, and Sophomore
Amelie Mastan with 3:36 left in the 4
th quarter. Both Isabella and Amelie finished the game with 1 goal. Both teams are 2-0 (0-0) on the year.
Next game for the Boys will be a district game on Wednesday, August 28
th at 6:00pm @ LPHS Natatorium (Senior Lot) against North Shore High School. Girls will not have a game until August 30
th against Caesar E. Chavez High School
