Lady Dawgs WIN!

Lady Dawgs faced Baytown Sterling on Tuesday night, a team they had never beaten before. But that night, everything changed.

La Porte's spirit ignited with passion and determination. Senior Isabella Huerta started strong, scoring the first goal of the game with a precise assist from Sophomore Natalie Chavez. Though Baytown Banded together and tied the game with just 3:55 left in the first quarter, the Lady Dawgs refused to back down. They responded fiercely, netting three quick goals—one from Isabella and two from Natalie, pushing the score to 4-1 in favor of La Porte. Freshman Addilynn Morara played a crucial role, providing two vital assists on those goals. Baytown struck back, but La Porte answered with two more goals, cementing their dominance and ending the quarter ahead 6-2. Selfless defense and fierce hustle allowed Natalie to snag two steals, while Sophomore Kimberly Manzo made three crucial saves, fueling the team's momentum.

In the second quarter, Baytown Sterling fought hard, scoring once, but La Porte's relentless fight continued. Adilyn Smith showcased her play making with three beautiful assists, feeding her teammates with passion and vision. Natalie Chavez added two more goals, and Freshman Skylir Taylor marked her first district goal, boosting the score to 9-3. Alexandra Pilkerton's assist kept the momentum flowing, and Kimberly Manzo's six impressive saves kept Baytown at bay, raising her total to nine.

As the third quarter began, Natalie Chavez ignited the offense, scoring to extend the lead to 10-3 a testament to her unstoppable drive, assisted by Skylir Taylor. Natalie then aided Isabella on her third glorious goal, fueling La Porte's confidence. She pushed even further, netting two more goals and stealing the ball once more, while Kimberly tallied two more vital saves, bringing her total to 11.

The Lady Dawgs entered the final quarter with fierce determination, leading 14-7. Baytown showed resilience, scoring early, but Natalie responded with another goal, assisted by Sophomore Paisley Evans. Freshman Nellie Ortiz celebrated her first district goal, stretching the lead to 16-9. Allie Pilkerton added two more goals, sealing an unforgettable victory, while Kimberly finished strong with four impressive saves, ending the night with 15 total stops.

This night was a remarkable victory proof that with passion, heart, and unyielding effort, the Lady Dawgs can defy history and emerge victorious.
